Nicosia, April 23, 2021 – EuroAsia Interconnector Limited, the Project Developer of the European electricity interconnection project PCI 3.10 linking the national grids of Israel, Cyprus and Greece (Crete), announces the receipt of binding offers from Nexans Norway AS and Prysmian Powerlink s.r.l. for the award of the EPCI contracts for the supply and installation of the HVDC Cable Systems interconnecting Cyprus with Greece (Crete), PCI 3.10.2 EuroAsia Interconnection. The 500kV HVDC interconnection, commissioning in 2025, can transfer 1000MW in either direction.
The Tender was published in Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) of the Official Journal of the European Union on 12 February 2021 with publication number 2021/S 030-075341 and the Contract encompasses the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation of the HVDC Cable Systems for the Cyprus – Greece (Crete) Link (PCI 3.10.2) of the EuroAsia Interconnector.
