NICOSIA, March 27, 2020 – EuroAsia Interconnector Limited, the Project Promoter of the European electricity interconnection project PCI 3.10 linking the national grids of Israel, Cyprus and Greece through Crete, announces the selection of Siemens AG as the preferred bidder for the award of the contract for the construction of the VSC Converter Stations of EuroAsia Interconnector.

The “EuroAsia Interconnector VSC HVDC Converters” contract encompasses the design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of the VSC-HVDC Converters as a multi-terminal system.

The Tender was published in Tenders Electronic Today of the Official Journal of the European Union with publication number 2018/S 074-165446.

The Project Promoter is proceeding with the implementation of the EuroAsia Interconnector according to the implementation plan:

• PCI 3.10.1- Interconnection between Israel and Cyprus – December 2023

• PCI 3.10.2 – Interconnection between Cyprus and Greece (Crete) – December 2023
